Experience
When I was a middle schooler, I realized that I loved math and hoped to someday earn a math degree. I grew up in Cuba, so I was not sure if this dream would ever materialize. However, eight years ago I moved to the United States and was then able to work toward and finally achieve my goal. I attended Bard College, located in the state of New York, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics. After graduating, I decided to continue my education and went on to earn a master's degree in Mathematics from University of Miami. One of the reasons I love math is that it is like a game or puzzle to me, and I enjoy problem solving as I look for the solution. As a tutor, I feel this mindset helps me to look for multiple approaches to a problem and find unique ways to explain concepts. I began tutoring after completing my undergraduate degree, and found that I really enjoyed it. This led me to join Miami Dade College as an Adjunct Faculty, and I now have experience with classroom teaching as well. When I'm not teaching or tutoring, I love to go to the beach, travel, cook, and spend time with my friends and two pet cats.
