When I tutor, I work hard to have an environment where my students are relaxed and know they can grow. I focus on activities and content that is relevant, yet challenging, and provide real-world, practical examples. It is my goal that students of all abilities have the opportunity to learn in a positive and encouraging environment. As a teacher, I am enthusiastic, fun, and outgoing. My sense of humor, confidence, and excellent communication have always helped me connect with people. I have been recognized for my use of creativity, flexibility and quality of instruction, educational tools, lesson plans, and activities. I prefer a student-centered approach, where I tailor activities and lessons to support the interests, background, culture, learning style, language proficiency, and intelligence level of my students. In the course of eight years, I have had a variety of teaching experiences. I have taught International Baccalaureate (IB) business management to high school juniors and seniors; I have instructed children with learning challenges in math; and I have taught college students. As an International School of Havana (ISH) professor, I gained much insight into teaching styles and learning assessments. This knowledge aided me in teaching young adults and children of various cultures and abilities, and has been quite fulfilling. I have a Master of Business Administration (MBA), and an International Diploma for Teachers and Trainers by the University of Cambridge (UK).
