ExperienceToo often the relationship between the student and the teacher is one of intimidating authority, and there is so much potential to maximize learning potential by instead treating it as a relationship between two equals. Students, especially younger ones, are much more responsive when working collaboratively and working alongside their friends. I try to be a figure that they can trust and open up to, and I have seen great success with this approach. I am currently in the process of earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of North Carolina. I'm minoring in Computer Science and am considering a second minor in Neuroscience. In terms of teaching experience, I have had the opportunity to work as an online tutor for the past year, working with various middle school and high school students. I also have experience working with students face-to-face on an individual basis. I have ample experience helping first-year college students make the transition into more difficult studies, and I've also worked with many adult students. One of my specialties and something I have enjoyed mastering over the years is preparing my students to score well when taking various standardized tests, especially the SAT.
