I am an applied mathematics major at the University of Michigan, going into my fourth year. After graduation I intend to go to graduate school for financial math and also work in industry. I am also heavily involved in music at the university and in the community. I work as a piano accompanist, am a first violinist in CSO, have ten year-round music students, and helped arrange and direct a chamber orchestra at West Side UMC where I was a violinist last summer.
Experience
I have been tutoring a wide range of subjects for six years, primarily math and music. I began in early high school, tutoring peers, and expanded it into my profession towards the end of high school. I have tutored a wide range of subjects, from mathematics to French, and also a diverse group of people, from children to college students to adults. I find tutoring very rewarding because I love sharing my passion with my students and helping them succeed and enjoy what they are learning. I also really enjoy advancing students beyond their current class requirements and tying different subjects together. I currently have ten year-round music students (in piano, violin, and harp) as well as several math students.
