As a tutor who enjoys working with people, I believe that equipping students with the skills they need to achieve their scholastic goals will benefit them in all aspects of their lives -- whether academically, socially, or professionally. My personal conviction is that a good education is the single most critical thing that students can strive for, and I have the desire and the skills needed to help young minds not only to understand, but also to appreciate subjects like math, English, and science.That said, my approach is holistic rather than piecemeal, so I focus both on academia and on practical life skills, such as showing students the importance of treating others the way they themselves want to be treated, of working well with others, and of understanding the importance of eating well and exercising regularly.My tutoring experience includes working with students from elementary school to those from college. While volunteering at the RISE for Success Program held on my college campus, I have had the opportunity to gain an in-depth grasp of the ways in which college students process and learn course material. As well, I had the opportunity to sharpen and expand my tutoring skills as a team leader at various summer camps. Specifically, I have developed a number of methodologies for teaching students who are between the ages of 10 and 17. As students are all different, I've come to appreciate the importance of using different learning methodologies as required so that the students can learn the material they need to understand.When neither studying nor tutoring, I enjoy gaming, hiking, whitewater rafting, cartoons, traveling, electronics, and zip-lining.
