WORK HISTORY AND EXPERIENCES 1.Campbell Drive Elementary August 2011-Present (Miami Dade County Public Schools) *I currently teach an inclusion Fifth Grade Reading and Language Arts class. I instruct a balanced literacy program that incorporates the new Common Core Standards in the following : shared, guided, independent reading, small group literacy strategy lessons, and vocabulary instruction. Also, I implement and monitor ongoing formal and informal student learning assessments for the data which drives planning, differentiation, and instruction. 2.United martial Arts December 2013-Present *I am the Literacy teacher for this institution’s after school reading program that is funded by The Children’s Trust. I provide the ‘high risk’ students with reading intervention skills, such as fluency practice, in order to help them improve their reading skills. The curriculum implemented is Reader’s Theater. 3.Kelsey Pharr Elementary September – June 2011 (Miami Dade County Public Schools) *I instructed an ESOL self contained Kindergarten classroom, and was able the implement the acquired knowledge I gained through the ESOL endorsement courses effectively. My students were able to succeed on the FAIR test. I was also a FELC tutor for Fourth and Fifth grade students. 4.Miami Behavioral Health Center March – August 2010 *Assist in the delivery of adult mental health care, including direct supervision of clients, participation in therapeutic groups, writing progress notes, providing input into the treatment and discharge plans, and assisting clients in performing activities of daily living. 5.Huntington Learning Center *Nov. 2006- May 2009 Implement Huntington’s highly developed curriculum and individualized educational programs in Math, Language Arts, and Reading of students from grades K-9 with the objective of developing the strengths and remediating their deficiencies. I also help in administration once a week. 6.Parkville School (English Speaking Prep- School) Aug. 2005- Dec. 2006 *Taught American History, World History and Language Arts to Fifth and Sixth Grade students; Experience in organizing creative and interactive lesson plans; Helped design the school’s Fifth Grade Social Studies Curriculum 7.
