Experience
I received my bachelor's degree in Economics from Florida International University. During this time, I tutored individuals of all ages in a variety of subjects. I've worked with students in elementary, high school, and in college. After undergrad, I began working in journalism for year, before enrolling at Florida International University again to pursue a Social Psychology doctorate degree. I'm interested in a variety of subjects, and I feel comfortable tutoring Pre-Calculus, Algebra (I-IV), Geometry, English, Arithmetic, Literature, among others. I'd love to help students improve their writing, reading, study skills, phonics, and mastery of grammar/mechanics. I also can work with students to prepare for their assessments for different exams, including the SAT (Verbal, Writing, Critical Reading, Math) and the GRE. In order to succeed academically, students have to figure out what their best learning methods are, and they also need to engage in practical application of learned information. My job as a tutor is to aid students in figuring out which kinds of techniques work well for them, and to encourage them to keep using them. I love to read, write, watch TV, play guitar, and watch and play soccer. I currently live in Miami, Florida.
