Experience
I have had the privilege to five years as a graduate teaching assistant at Florida International University, where I helped hundreds of students to learn economic concepts. I did this through teaching three of my own university courses and assisting professor with teaching theirs. I am a strong believer in teaching concepts in an intuitive way, which varies from student to student. In other words, I get a feel for how my students learn best and adapt my instruction to make learning as easy as possible. When I work with a student (as a tutor), I make myself available in between tutoring session to answer quick questions. For example, if you're working on an assignment and find yourself stuck, you can text me and I'll provide you with guidance to help you continue making progress. During my undergraduate career I frequently led study groups in my majors and tutored friends in my free time. While tutoring, I strive for the student to understand the underlying concepts in order to develop true understanding rather than focusing solely on rote memorization of examples. I also gained experience as an Interventionist in a remedial Mathematics class at South Dade Senior High School and working at Tianjin Foreign Studies University in Tianjin, China as a Business English Instructor where I also studied Chinese language. I'm looking to tutor more frequently because I recently complete my Graduate Teaching Assistant contract at FIU and would like to continue helping students excel in their courses.
