I earned my bachelor's degree in Economics, with a minor in Marketing, from Florida International University. Previous to this, I spent time living in Venezuela, where I had the opportunity to tutor students in an after school program. I enjoyed this experience, and upon my return to Miami, I continued tutoring, working with my fellow college students at two local universities. I enjoy tutoring because it gives me the chance to know each student as an individual, and I have experience working with students of all ages. I am available to tutor elementary subjects like writing, reading, and math. I also tutor other subjects at higher grade levels, like economics courses, Spanish courses, and English at all levels. I have also been successful helping students prepare for standardized exams like the ISEE, SSAT, and others. Each lesson I plan is prepared especially for the individual student I am working with. The lessons are tailored for each student based on the subject, their strengths and abilities, and the gaps I have found in their learning. I have been told I do a good job at using examples that help them understand the material, and have a way of explaining things in a simple way so my students understand.
