Experience
I attended the University of Miami and majored in Psychology and English. My minor was Art and my focus was Creative Writing. While attending school, I worked for America Reads. As a result, I gained experience working individually with students who were neurotypical or had special needs. I would help design programs that were effective and fun, to help them overcome their personal challenges. I offer tutoring in English, Writing, Literature, Grammar and Mechanics, Essay Writing, History, Psychology, Test Prep, and Math. My favorites would have to be Writing and Literature, as these are both favorite pastimes of mine. I regard educators with a high level of respect, and I am thankful that I had many who were able to help me develop my strong background in education, which has resulted in many opportunities for me. I would like to do the same for my students. I strive to create an environment that helps facilitate learning by being engaging and enjoyable. It should be fun and not viewed as a chore. I try to promote active learning in my classroom so that my students can internalize the lessons. In my spare time, I like to read a variety of books, write fiction and poetry, kayak, scuba dive, and hike throughout the Everglades.
